Uncertainty is liberating

Uncertainty can be liberating.

Once you have broken free from the conventional structures in your life, you can be free to pick the direction of your life.

You wonder: What should you aim at? How can you contribute to the world?

The path of figuring it out will involve lots of uncertainty, trial and error, and perhaps stress. But..

Isn’t it liberating and beautiful that you can be free to pick your life’s direction and aim towards the highest ideal that you’re capable of?

Sure uncertainty can be stressful, but have you wondered how miraculous it can be to work with uncertainty instead of hiding behind structures not set by you?

You can be more in control of your life. You can take charge of the direction in your life. You can work towards goals you actually want to work on.

Introducing Live Longer World: Science-backed fun stories & practical tips on reversing aging

Below is a conversation between 2 friends Bill and Tina:

Hey Bill, are you aware that there is fascinating new science coming out on reversing aging and feeling more energetic? I hear that you can even delay the onset of diseases such as diabetes, cancer and Alzheimers.

Hmm, I’m only vaguely aware, Tina. My biggest question is if there is a way to act on this emerging longevity science and see benefits in my life? Or will this science be restricted to labs and dense research papers that put me to sleep?

That’s exactly the question I had, Bill! Turns out, there is, in fact, a way to act on this science and live a healthier life. So, I tried to understand some of this science but it did indeed put me to sleep. But then one of the best things happened to me! I discovered Live Longer World!

Okay…and is that a magic drug that helps you power through this dense science?

Haha, Bill! Don’t you wish! It’s even better. It will indeed save the day and empower you to become a superhero.

Tina, whenever you are done with your Powerpuff girls spiel, can you just tell me what it is in simple words please?

Okay okay..Live Longer World is a newsletter that will provide you with science-backed recommendations to reverse aging and to be the pioneers of preventative healthcare.

So it’s another newsletter telling me about boring health science?

Oh boy, not at all – it seems as if the author has no attention span for anything boring! It’s not just any other newsletter. It’s a fun, easy to understand newsletter that’s bridging this gap between the scientific world of longevity science and you!

Okay, and what exactly is fun about it?

Well, well, well. You should read the newsletter to know for yourself. But I’ll let you in on the secret. The science based recommendations are told in the form of stories taught by these two quirky characters called Molly and Doug!

Wait, what! Really? You’re telling me I can actually learn some science AND understand how to optimize my health by reading fun conversations and stories?

It gets even better – there are even some fun stick-figure type drawings! And, it makes sure to provide you with simple and actionable recommendations to improve your health. So it’s science + practicality + fun combined. I couldn’t believe it at first!

Yeah, that sounds too good to be true!

Well, you know what, you should judge for yourself. Here’s the link, give it a read! I gotta go, but say hi to Molly and Doug from my side!

Note: I am the author of Live Longer World! I’ve spent the better part of over a year (it’s been a longer 2-3 year process, really!) on geeking out on longevity science and applying the scientific recommendations to improve my health. They’ve helped me so much that I couldn’t be more excited to share them with you in the hope that they help you as well! Please subscribe and share Live Longer World with family and friends if you think it will benefit them.

Personal Reflections on My Brain’s State of Being

  1. Morning brain: Logical, Practical, Rational
  2. Night brain: Emotional, Craves social belonging and love
  3. Brain on less sleep: Creative but can’t think straight. Irritable. Can’t think of long-term and second order consequences
  4. Brain on quality sleep: Happy, Well-rested, Energetic
  5. Brain on exercise: Happy. Thinks well. Focused. Social. Creative. Laughs. Makes jokes. Empathetic. Bold. Ready to take on the world. Confident.
  6. Brain on healthy food: Clean clear thinking. Light feeling.
  7. Brain on unhealthy food: Sluggish, Sleepy
  8. Brain under stress / emotional turbulence: Malleable. Susceptible to change. Vulnerable. Less confident. Looks for social validation. Seeks love. Will be controlled by anyone who shows some love.
  9. Brain after meditation: Calm, Wants to show love, Kind, Purposeful

The above are my personal reflections on my own mind’s state of being under different circumstances. Different people could feel differently, but for the most part, the above reflections apply universally.

It is interesting to observe how your thinking and mind’s state of being changes at different times of the day and the effect of different activities on your mind. After all, the mind does control how you perceive the world, so it’s important to observe it.

It is only after we are aware of the mind’s state of being under different circumstances can we try to alter our behaviors to reach the state of mind we want. For example, exercise, meditation, sleeping well, and eating healthy are great ways to get out of a funk and feel happier and more energetic.

As a fun exercise, try to observe your mind at different times of the day and how it’s affected by various activities!

If Only

Thought I’d end the year with a poem. Wishing everyone a peaceful and happy 2021!

—–xxx—–

If Only I had a house like yours, I’d be happy,

If Only I had a job like yours, I’d be happy,

If Only I had parents like yours, I’d be happy,

If Only I had a spouse like yours, I’d be happy,

If Only I had children like yours, I’d be happy.

xx

If Only I were rich, I’d be at peace,

If Only I were famous, I’d be at peace,

If Only I were married, I’d be at peace,

If Only I were beautiful, I’d be at peace,

If Only I were fit, I’d be at peace.

xx

And if you were rich, then what?

But of course my mind would be calm.

And if you were famous, then what?

But of course my mind would be calm.

And if you were married, then what?

But of course my mind would be calm.

And if you were beautiful, then what?

But of course my mind would be calm.

And if you were fit, then what?

But of course my mind would be calm.

xx

Are you sure your mind would then be calm?

Yes yes..my mind would then be calm.

xx

Are you so sure your mind would then be calm?

Do not your If Only’s exist

Because your mind is not calm?

xx

If Only your mind was calm,

You could be rich.

If Only your mind was calm,

You could be famous.

If Only your mind was calm,

You could be married.

If Only your mind was calm,

You could be beautiful.

If Only your mind was calm,

You could be fit.

xx

If Only your mind was calm,

You would be happy,

You would be at peace.
